Slade never were able to break into the US market, not even at the time that their songs were repeat Top 5 entries in England. This is why statements that grant Slade more importance and influence over rock and roll than other bands (Oasis' Noel Gallagher compared Slade with Radiohead) are possibly true, but only half true at the most.
